President Maduro Receives Alba-TCP’s Member Countries Leaders on XXIV Summit

The Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro received the Prime Ministers and presidents of the Alba-TCP member countries in the face of the XXIV Summit, to be held in Caracas on Saturday.

Earlier, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yván Gil, received this Saturday the dignitaries of Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Bolivia and Nicaragua, at the International Airport of Maiquetía Simón Bolívar, La Guaira (Caracas).
It is scheduled that the Summit kick off at 2:00, with the first speech and a welcome message and then to discuss critical issues regarding integration and development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Among the heads of state participating are Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of the Republic of Cuba; Luis Arce Catacora, President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia; and Daniel Ortega Saavedra, President of the Republic of Nicaragua. Additionally, Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica; Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.
In addition, Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; Denzil Douglas, Minister for Foreign Affairs from Saint Kitts and Nevis; Lennox Andrews from Grenada’s Ministry for Economic Development; and Claudius Francis who serves as Speaker of Parliament in Saint Lucia will also be present.
On the other hand, because the Haiti’s internal crisis, the President of the Transitional Presidential Council of Haiti Leslie Voltaire, will speak via video conference, as the Adviser to the State President for International Affairs and Special Envoy of the State of Palestine, Riad Malki, will be the last to deliver statements at the summit.
Prior to the beginning of the plenary, in the early afternoon, a private meeting of the leaders of the ALBA-TCP countries was scheduled, as well as a tour through the exhibition 20 years of achievements of the Alliance. After the individual interventions, the statement of the event will be read out, together with a special communiqué on the Bicentenary of Ayacucho and a text in support of Palestine.
