At the 16th BRICS Summit in the Russian city of Kazan, the Bolivarian leader called for recognition of this new era for humanity. According to his remarks, this new time is defined by the rise of emerging powers and a more just and balanced world order.

Maduro highlighted that BRICS not only represents a shift in the economic and geopolitical spheres but also symbolizes a transformation in the values that should guide relations between nations.

“This is the beginning of a new era in which cooperation and solidarity will be the pillars of a more humane and equitable world,” he declared and recalled the words of Liberator Simon Bolivar and Commander Hugo Chavez, who dreamed of building a more balanced and just world.

“200 years ago, Bolivar fought for the independence and balance of the world. Today, that balance is a reality thanks to BRICS,” Maduro said, pointing out that BRICS is the platform where those dreams of justice and sovereignty are being realized in the 21st century.

Maduro insisted that this new era must move beyond the colonial and hegemonic practices that have dominated the international stage for centuries.

“The countries of the Global South are no longer willing to accept the imposition of economic or political conditions by Western powers,” he emphasized, noting that this new era is marked by the need for a profound transformation in global institutions, such as the United Nations, which he said has failed in its mission to protect the most vulnerable peoples.

“The international system as we know it no longer responds to the realities of today’s world. We must refound global institutions so they truly serve the people and not the interests of elites,” he added.

Maduro reiterated Venezuela’s commitment to the values of BRICS and its willingness to collaborate with emerging powers in building this new era for humanity. “Venezuela is ready to contribute its revolutionary strength to this new time, this new era that has already begun,” he concluded.
