«I ordered changes in the Superior Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces: I ratified the (general in chief) GJ Vladimir Padrino López as Minister of People’s Power for Defense, and the GJ Domingo Antonio Hernández Lárez to head of Strategic Operational Command», the president stressed in his Telegram channel.

Admiral Ashraf Andel Hadi Suleiman Gutierrez will henceforth assume the duties of commander of the Navy.

In the Bolivarian Military Aviation, Major General Lenín Lorenzo Ramírez Villasmil was appointed and Elio Ramón Estrada Paredes was confirmed as head of the National Guard Command.

Orlando Ramón Romero Bolívar will be the head of the Bolivarian Militia, and will lead the general directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) and the Presidential Honor Guard, led by Major-General Javier Marcano Tábata.

In addition, the president appointed Alexis Rodríguez Cabello, who will head the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN).

Other changes were:

Commands of the Strategic Integral Defense Region (REDI):

  • Royman Antonio Hernández Briceño
  • Jesús Rafael Villamizar Gómez

In line with this, in the program Maduro + on Monday, the president assured that “Venezuela has a military power that defends it… revolutionary patriot Bolivarian and increasingly Chavista, anti-Ligarchic, anti-surname”.
