In a recent episode of his program “Con Maduro+”, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced the appointment of four working commissions tasked with drafting a proposal for the consultation and debate on Constitutional Reform.

During the broadcast, President Maduro emphasized the importance of having a “guaranteeing” Constitution that facilitates these processes at a time when the people are “aware, educated, and organized.”

The first commission, called the Commission for Transformation, Modernization, and Expansion, aims to build a new democratic state system and integrate Communal, Social, and Popular Power. This commission will be led by the President of the National Assembly, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez.

The second commission, focused on the Principles and Values of the New Society, will address legal, constitutional, and political aspects of Venezuela’s legal framework. It will be coordinated by Attorney General Tarek William Saab.

The third commission, named the Commission of General Ideas, will work on defining parameters, values, and principles to promote a more humane society from the perspective of Bolivarianism. This initiative will be chaired by First Lady and Deputy Cilia Flores de Maduro.

Finally, the Commission for the New Economic Model will seek to develop an “independent and self-sufficient” economic model, which Maduro described as “structural and vital” for the country. This commission will be headed by Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez Gómez.

The President emphasized that the modification and improvement of the Constitution is the responsibility of the sovereign people, reaffirming his commitment to perfecting the Magna Carta in line with the ideals of historical leaders such as Bolívar, Chávez, Zamora, and Rodríguez.

Additionally, he invited citizens to actively participate in the debate on Constitutional Reform, underscoring that this is a process that must include the voice of the people.
