In an emotional celebration of the tradition of the Three Wise Men, Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro, stressed on Monday the importance of peace as a fundamental right for the country’s future.
During the event held at the Miraflores Palace, President Maduro emphasized that “no one will steal our peace” and pledged to guarantee “perpetual peace in Venezuela.”
The president linked the arrival of the Magi with a message of hope and tranquility for the nation, stressing the need to cultivate the right to peace, especially for new generations.
“Children will have a future, a homeland, and an education,” he said, urging society to strengthen the culture and traditions that are part of Venezuelan identity.
President Maduro emphasized the crucial role schools and lyceums play in the cultural education of young people.
In his speech, he promoted the initiative “Viva Venezuela, mi patria querida,” which seeks to integrate family and community values with the beauty of the environment.
He also rejected what he described as a “cognitive and psychological war” affecting children, arguing for the importance of fostering a positive and enriching environment for their development.
The president not only celebrated the present but also reflected on recent Christmas festivities, describing them as “the happiest in history,” highlighting the role of family and community during this time.
Finally, Maduro announced the creation of a new institution aimed at strengthening band schools in Venezuela, a project he called “a vital boost for our artistic talent.”
With this proposal, the government seeks to enhance cultural and artistic expressions in the country, reaffirming its commitment to the integral development of young Venezuelans.
