The meeting took place at the Miraflores Palace. Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez also attended.

The company Repsol was represented by its president in Venezuela, Luis Antonio García Sánchez, and its international executive director of Exploration and Production, José Carlos de Vicente Bravo. The state-owned company Pdvsa was represented by its president, Héctor Obregón.

On September 13, the Vice President of Venezuela and also Minister for Oil, Delcy Rodríguez, met with García Sánchez.

Through his social networks, Rodríguez said: «Our country continues to advance its energy cooperation plans and in alliances with companies that, like Repsol, trust and invest in the world’s first oil reserve».

They also addressed the production projects of crude oil development in Petroquiriquire and Petrocarabobo, as well as the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the Quiriquire Gas block and in the Perla field, also known as Cardón IV.

Unilateral restrictive measures imposed by the U.S. and Europe against Venezuela had a negative impact on the energy sector. Despite this, the country has recovered and its current production is close to one million barrels of oil extracted daily.
