During a handover ceremony for works recovered by the Military Communal Brigades for Education and Health (Bricomiles), the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, outlined a series of strategic objectives aimed at raising the quality of the country’s education system in the context of the resumption of classes by 2025.

President Maduro stressed that the first objective is to ensure that “no child or youth will be outside the Venezuelan education system.” In this regard, he emphasized that currently, 85% of students are in public administration, an achievement that the president described as significant.

The second objective is to ensure five days of classes per week and a minimum of five hours of instruction per day. According to Maduro, this structure is essential for the proper educational development of students.

Finally, the fifth objective focuses on raising the quality and management capacity of educational institutions, seeking to elevate the standards of training for administrative, worker, and teaching staff.

The Minister of People’s Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, complemented the president’s statements by informing that at the beginning of the school year, 373 schools have been completely restored, with another 102 in the process of being handed over this week.

He also mentioned that there are currently 47 institutions in recovery and 500 more have been selected for restoration.

This set of measures reflects an effort to revitalize the Venezuelan education system amidst significant challenges facing the country.
