Prime Minister Chad Urges Strengthening Multilateralism to Build a More Just World

Prime Minister Chad, Allamaye Halina, urged this Wednesday during the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) to strengthen multilateralism to build a more just world.

He also called for action to enable communities to live in dignity recognized the actions of the state in confronting terrorist groups that undermine peace, threaten institutions and exacerbate poverty.

As for the crisis in Libya, he called on the parties to break out of the political stalemate in which the nation and the Israeli and Palestinian conflict are finding themselves, stressing the risk of unjustified violence.

Allamaye Halina, condemned the violence against innocent Palestinians and stressed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, called for a negotiated political settlement of the conflict, the world cannot remain indifferent to the images of Palestine and the extension of the conflict to Lebanon, which aggravates the regional situation.

The prime minister also called for the lifting of the embargo on Cuba, which is harming its people and hindering their development.

Regarding the situation in the Sahel, he called for a commitment from the international community to be able to meet the challenge, strengthening international collaboration to curb terrorism.

Chad faces climate change floods and prolonged droughts and urged the international community to meet its funding commitments, requested access to vaccines because health and education are the foundations of human security.

As well as the support of the international community, to promote an open labour market to support youth, and the empowerment of women to confront poverty and inequalities.

The country’s management in strengthening democracy also referred to the situation of refugees and host populations in the face of the situation in Sudan, and showed concern about the humanitarian situation and the need for access to humanitarian aid.
