Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday expressed his condemnation of the recent escalation of hostilities against Russia, affirming that the conflict in Ukraine has taken on a global dimension following the long-range missile attacks that have affected Russian territory. These missiles have been supplied by the United States, as well as by the United Kingdom and France.

During a live national broadcast, the president emphasized that it is not Russia that has destabilized the international security system, but rather the United States, which, according to him, is leading the world into a large-scale conflict.

Putin reaffirmed Russia’s willingness to address problems peacefully, as it has shown since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022.

The Russian leader also indicated that his country is prepared for any eventuality and recalled that there are currently no effective means to counter the advanced capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces.

These actions targeted the Russian regions of Kursk and Bryansk, which share a border with Ukraine. Putin said the enemy failed to achieve its goals. The Russian president stated that it is not feasible to use long-range weapons against Russia without the assistance of experts from the manufacturing countries.

In previous statements, he pointed out that Ukraine lacks the advanced tools necessary to operate these weapons. In addition, Putin confirmed that the Russian Armed Forces had recently used a new medium-range system called “Oreshnik” and launched a non-nuclear hypersonic ballistic missile to attack a military-industrial facility in Dnepropetrovsk, achieving the goal successfully.

He advanced that current missile defense systems, including those deployed by the US in Europe, will not be able to intercept the missiles developed by Russia. He also mentioned that Russia will notify civilians in Ukraine in advance if systems such as the “Oreshnik” are used.

The Ukrainian facility attacked, known as Yuzhmash or Pivdenmash, is a major industrial center where missiles were primarily produced. The Russian Armed Forces have reiterated that their attacks are directed at military or arms-related facilities, unlike in Ukraine, which allegedly targets civilian areas.
