Republic of Abkhazia Greets Nicaragua on Diplomatic Relations Stablishing Anniversary

The Abkhazia’s Foreign Ministry sent its cordial greetings to the Republic of Nicaragua on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on September 10th, 2009.

Abkhazia remarked the relations stablishing date like a very significant day in the modern history of the Republic of Abkhazia and “a promise of the development of friendly and cooperative relations between our peoples and States.”
“We note with satisfaction that since the recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between our States there has been constant interaction. We welcome the progressive development of our political dialogue and the further development of bilateral relations,” says the statement.
The Abkhazia’s government also highlighted that the relations with Nicaragua are really important to them and said to be prepared to contribute in every possible way to the further development of the whole complex of mutually beneficial strategic partnership of inter-state cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, in turn, takes this opportunity to reiterate to the Nicaraguan Ministry of Foreign Affairs “the expression of your highest consideration.”
Abkhazia is a territory located on the southwestern slope of the Caucasus mountain range, to the north-east of the Black Sea, and whose capital city is Sukhumi. It gained its independence from Georgia in 1992 and Nicaragua was the second country to recognize Abkhazia as an independent sovereign republic on 3 September 2009.
