Rodríguez Parrilla: We Cannot Ignore the New Threats We Face

The Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, stated during the Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) that the region can not ignore the threats if faces.

“We cannot ignore the new threats we face, we cannot ignore the new threats we face: foreign interference, non-conventional or cognitive and communicational warfare and attempts to break our unity,” said the Cuban FM in Caracas, Venezuela.
In this regard, Rodriquez Parrilla highlighted that the US government resorts to the use of brutally punitive commercial economic tools, the pernicious effect of which “will have a negative impact on our peoples.”
About the recent threats of the US president Donald Trump to the sovereignty over the Panama Canal, Rodriguez Parrilla recalled on the fact that the inter-oceanic cross “belongs solely to the Panamanian people.”
“We have the commitment and the duty to maintain a system based on respectful relations of friendship and cooperation, free from threats and aggression, as well as a climate of peace and justice, in order to forever banish the use and threat of force,” the Cuban FM said.
In addition, Rodriguez Parrilla reaffirmed the Cuba’s commitment o regular, safe and orderly migration and its fight against crimes associated with migratory movements, including human trafficking and illegal migrant smuggling.
