Russia and Ukraine Each Swap 175 War Prisoners

On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that its country and Ukraine each exchanged 175 prisoners captured in the Ukrainian conflict.

Another 22 seriously wounded Ukrainian prisoners in need of urgent medical care were also transferred “as a gesture of goodwill,” Russian authorities said, noting that United Arab Emirates provided mediation efforts leading to the return of Russian service members.
Currently, the released Russian soldiers are in Belarus, where they receive medical and psychological assistance, and where they have the opportunity to communicate with their families.
On Wednesday, hours before the POW exchange, Ukraine violated the 30-day energy truce, which was agreed upon by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump during a telephone conversation yesterday.
In this regard, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that Ukrainian forces attacked an oil depot in the Russian region of Krasnodar.
