“The liberated military personnel will be transported by military transport aircraft of the Russian Air Force to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions. All the liberated are receiving the necessary medical and psychological assistance,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

For its part, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the governments of the countries in conflict for their cooperation in ensuring that the exchange of prisoners of war occurred smoothly and successfully.

So far this year, this is the 5th prisoner exchange mediated by the United Arab Emirates, which reaffirmed its commitment to continue its efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian conflict.

Arab diplomacy also emphasized the importance of resorting to dialogue and de-escalation as ways to resolve the conflict and mitigate the humanitarian repercussions resulting from the crisis.

The UAE has positioned itself as a neutral intermediary attempting to facilitate dialogue and reduce tensions between Russia and Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict.

Thanks to the 5th prisoner exchange, Russia sent Ukrainian soldiers from the National Guard, Border Guard, Navy, and Army who had been captured in Mariupol, Chernobyl, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk.
