On Thursday, the British ratified that Ukraine is free to use the UK weapons even in operations within Russia.

On Wednesday, Acting Governor Alexei Smirnov announced that a mandatory evacuation has been ordered for all residents of the Glushkovsky district in Russia’s Kursk region.

“The regional operational headquarters has decided to mandate the evacuation of the entire Glushkovsky district,” Smirnov said.

The Glushkovsky district, which borders Ukraine, comprises two towns and 11 villages. This comes after an earlier announcement of a mandatory evacuation in the settlement of Glushkovo within the district.

Law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and volunteers from the Kursk Patriot Center will coordinate the evacuation process. The incursion of Ukrainian forces into Russia’s Kursk region could easily lead to a greater internationalization of the conflict than what has already been happening in practice.

The text reads, “The adventure of the NAZI-NATO soldiers reached this point, where they dared to enter Russian territory. Kursk turned out to be a giant ambush. They were surrounded and none of them managed to retreat to Ukrainian territory. Nevertheless, NATO media are trying to raise spirits.

On Thursday, a spokesperson for the British Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine is free to use the weapons provided by the United Kingdom for its defense, and this “does not exclude operations within Russia.”

“We made it clear during the donation process that the equipment would be used in accordance with international law,” the spokesperson said, reiterating a position that has not changed with the Labour Party’s rise to power on July 5.

The British stance implies that the anti-tank missiles, artillery, armored vehicles, and other weapons donated by the United Kingdom to Ukraine could be used on Russian territory. However, the Storm Shadow missiles will remain off-limits for use outside of Ukraine’s borders. The British government had already indicated that these long-range missiles would only be used in the conflict within Ukraine.
