The Russian armed forces will respond to U.S. drone operations over the Black Sea.

On Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its country’s anti-aircraft defense systems shot down 25 Ukrainian drones last night over five regions of the country.

Twelve of the destroyed devices were intercepted over the Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine and Belarus. Another nine drones were shot down over the Smolensk region, also bordering Belarus and neighboring the Moscow region.

The remaining drones were destroyed in the Kursk (2), Voronezh (1) and Rostov (1) regions, all of which border Ukraine.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has intensified the use of drones and missiles against Russia, not only near the front, but also against its deep rear.

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov directed the general staff of the Russian armed forces to propose a plan responding to U.S. drone operations over the Black Sea.

These drone flights heighten the risk of incidents involving Russian Aerospace Forces’ aircraft, thereby increasing the likelihood of direct confrontation between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Russia.

“This indicates a growing involvement of the United States and NATO countries in the Ukraine conflict on the side of the Kiev regime. NATO countries will bear responsibility for these actions,” the Defense Ministry stated.
