Meanwhile, President Zelensky greenlights the creation of new forces in charge of drone warfare.

On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned South Korea of its potential supplies of lethal weapons to Ukraine, saying it will “lead to a deterioration of bilateral relations.”

“We would like to warn the Republic of Korea against rash steps that could lead to irreversible consequences for Russian-South Korean relations,” she told reporters in Moscow.

Russia will not indifferently watch as South Korean weapons and equipment are transferred to the Ukrainian side, the diplomat said, adding that Seoul’s supply of lethal weapons to Kiev will lead to a deterioration in relations between Russia and South Korea.

Last week, local reports cited the office of the South Korean president, saying that Seoul will reconsider the possibility of providing lethal weapons to Ukraine after Russia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree to enforce a decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the creation of new forces in charge of drone warfare. The new unit, the Unmanned Systems Forces, will be a branch of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Previously, on Tuesday, the NSDC supported the government’s proposal to create the Unmanned Systems Forces, saying that the move aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Ukraine’s army amid the conflict with Russia.

This year, Ukraine plans to produce between 1 million and 2 million FPV (first-person view) drones, as well as about 10,000 medium-range and more than 1,000 long-range combat drones.
