This week, Russian authorities also stated that Ukrainian forces lost over 4,500 soldiers on the Donetsk front. Russian officials have already reported the capture of several towns in Donetsk, confirming their plans to take control of key enemy strongholds in the Donbas before the arrival of winter.

The current Russian offensive in the Donbas began in October 2023 after the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. U.S. media highlights that the Russian army is advancing in the Donbas at a speed not seen since February 2022.

On Friday, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov stated that the country’s military academies must train specialists in unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

“Military training must definitely include a specialization in the field of drones. More specifically, it must include an entire family of specializations,” he said, adding that military units must establish a specific command system for the use of drones.

“This issue is still pending, but it must be resolved,” Belousov emphasized at the ‘Rubicon’ drone technology center of the Ministry of Defense.

At this meeting, the Russian defense minister was briefed on the missions that the ‘Rubicon’ specialists are carrying out on the Ukrainian fronts.
