The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas, emphasized this Saturday the firm determination of his country to contribute to the strengthening of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) during the XXIV Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Caracas.
In his speech, Douglas paid tribute to historical leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, emphasizing that their legacy continues to inspire the peoples of the region. “Today we renew that commitment.
“No one should be left behind on the continent,” he stated, highlighting the importance of solidarity among nations in the face of external threats faced by several countries, including Haiti, Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nicaragua.
The minister also expressed his support for the Palestinian people’s right to determine their own future and condemned the genocide in Gaza, which has resulted in the deaths of over 44,900 Palestinians. In this context, Douglas reaffirmed Saint Kitts and Nevis’ commitment to defending a space of freedom and solidarity within ALBA-TCP.
Additionally, he referred to the Agroalba program as a key tool for implementing the 2030 Agenda in his country, stressing that this effort is part of a broader commitment to build a better world for all.
Finally, Douglas endorsed the legitimate reelection of Nicolas Maduro as President of Venezuela, urging him to continue leading toward new horizons of peace.
