Sheinbaum Presents New Members of Her Cabinet

Sheinbaum presents the Ministers of Health Secretariats; Public function; Energy; Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development; and Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation.
The president-elect of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced on Thursday the names of more members of her future cabinet with which, so far, 12 members are known to accompany her in her term.

Among the new names are Luz Elena González Escobar as Energy Secretary, of whom Sheinbaum highlighted her performance as Finance Secretary of Mexico City. David Kershenobich will be Secretary of Health. Raquel Buenrostro Sánchez will go to the Civil Service Secretariat, of whom the next president highlighted as “an incorruptible woman”. Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina will be Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport, and Edna Elena Vega Rangel, Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development.
Sheinbaum explained that he only introduced five members this Thursday, since Rogelio RamÃrez de la O, from whom he had advanced that he would continue as secretary of Finance and Public Credit.
“It is important to know that Raquel (Buenrostro Sánchez) continues to serve as Secretary of Economy in the Government of President López Obrador, does not leave that position; Jesus (Antonio Esteva) continues to serve as Secretary of Works of the Government of Mexico City, does not leave office for now, and also Edna ( Vega Rangel) as undersecretary of Sedatu (Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development)”, said Sheinbaum about the officials, who will begin the new functions once the new president assumes in September.

A week ago, Sheinbaum presented Marcelo Ebrard as Secretary of Economy; Alicia Bárcena, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources; Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Secretary of External Relations; Rosaura Ruiz in front of the Secretary of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation, as well as Julio Antonio Berdegué, from Agriculture.
On the other hand, Sheinbaum indicated on Monday that appointments to the National Defense and Navy secretariats will be made at the end of the transition.
