Spanish Solidarity Groups Celebrate Nicolás Maduro’s Triumph

Spanish solidarity groups celebrated the president’s re-election and offered their support to the Venezuelan people.
Solidarity groups in Spain celebrated the victory of Nicolás Maduro on Monday and spoke out against fascism in Venezuela and the attempted coup.

They also celebrated the president’s re-election and offered their support to the Venezuelan people in the face of the fascist and imperialist attack, which began after the legitimate and conclusive popular victory was not recognized.
The event was attended by Pedro Barea, from the Bolivarian Platform of Solidarity with Venezuela; Vanessa Pérez Gordillo, from Voces en Lucha, and the United Left’s International Relations Officer, Fran Pérez, who were part of the electoral accompaniment program in the elections of July 28, 2024 in Venezuela.
They also provided evidence of their experience during the election day, which was conducted regularly and transparently, as well as with the safe implementation of guarantees and audits of the Venezuelan electoral system.
The Solidarity Movement in Madrid invited the Ambassador of Venezuela to Spain, Gladys Gutiérrez, who gave a report on the latest events and emphasized the legitimacy of the electoral victory.
He also highlighted the possibility of a response from Venezuelan institutions, which were able to control the violent events that followed the illegal failure by far-right leaders to acknowledge the election results.
Ambassador Gutiérrez recognized the solidarity of the political and social forces gathered, and encouraged to continue the battle for truth and legitimacy of the popular triumph in Venezuela.
During the meeting, slogans were enunciated in support of the Bolivarian Revolution and President Nicolás Maduro, and political, social and cultural organizations such as the Communist Party of Spain, Izquierda Unida, Movimiento Democrático de Mujeres, Left Castellana.
Also present were representatives of the organization Red Revolution, Red Red, PCM, Voces en Lucha, Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain, Iniciativa Comunista, Network of Artists and Intellectuals in Defense of Humanity, Migrant Front, Union of Communist Youth of Spain, among others.
