During the XXIV Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty on Trade of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), held at the Convention Center of Simón Bolívar Park in La Carlota, Venezuela, Claudius Francis, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of Saint Lucia, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to regional integration and support for the Alliance.
Francis stressed the need to strengthen communications and promote integration as essential tools to confront the aggressions of imperialism.

ALBA-TCP was established on December 14, 2004, by leaders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro and is currently composed of ten countries: Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Dominica, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Honduras and Palestine are also participating as special guests.
