According to the UN, the main famine zone is the refugee camp in North Darfur, which is in the midst of various armed conflicts that are ravaging the African country.

The agency also stated that at least 11,000 people are suffering doubly, either from starvation and forced displacement or loss of their homes due to the aforementioned floods.

It should be noted that, despite the crisis, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have not ceased their attacks on villages and facilities of the Sudanese Armed Forces.

The paramilitary group RSF is carrying out a violent offensive which has affected thousands of civilians, including refugees in the North Darfur camp.

Since July, several international bodies such as the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, or IPC, reported that in the refugee camps of Northern Darfur, especially in ZamZam, is experiencing the worst form of famine crisis.

These camps have been in operation since April, when more than 100,000 people fled from one of the main arteries in the area, El-Fasher.

In later months, reports claim that the displaced population has multiplied to a million.
