The Sudanese government denounced on Tuesday the kidnapping, murder, rape and forced recruitment of more than 16,000 children by the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (FAR), since the beginning of the conflict in the country during April 2023.

The Sudanese authorities also reported that more than 15 million children were deprived of education and health.
Especially in the regions of Khartoum and Al Yazira, children who represent 60% of the Sudanese population due to high mortality rates have been exposed to brutal acts, according to the secretary of the Supreme Council for Childhood of Sudan, Abdelqadir al Amin.
According to al-Amin, 5,000 children have been victims of sexual violence, including both sexes.
The latest data, which corresponds to this Monday, reports about 71 cases of rape in 24 hours. The harassment occurred mainly in Al Yazira, according to local media. A 5-year-old girl died as a result of these assaults.
The victims reported the events after escaping from the hands of the FAR, which had them kidnapped after an assault on the village.
Local media reported that dozens of women remain in the FAR settlements, in the most remote areas of the country.
In addition to recent events, it is reported that since last July alone 700 girls and 100 boys have been abused by FAR troops in Khartoum and the aforementioned AL Yazira.
Of these girls, 57 became pregnant by their attackers and gave birth.
It should also be recalled that last October more than a dozen women committed suicide and induced their daughters to commit the same act, in order not to become victims of the abuses of the paramilitaries.
