The denounce came in an official statement issued yesterday Thursday, where the campaign indicated that the violations include displacement, looting and plundering, in addition to killing, which increases the suffering of civilians in areas such as Rafaa and Tamboul.

In the conflict of this African country, men, women and children have been caught in crossfire as both sides, often using explosive weapons with wide area effects, have launched frequent attacks in densely populated civilian neighbourhoods.

The statement of the Joint Campaign to Stop War in Sudan highlighted the use of explosive barrels by the army aviation against citizens has become a common occurrence, reflecting a dangerous escalation of hostilities. The campaign considered that current international responses are insufficient, and that the world is abandoning its moral duty to confront these crimes.

The campaign called on the two parties to the conflict to immediately cease fire and protect civilians, warning of the consequences of making this war ethnic or regional in nature, which could threaten the unity of Sudan. The campaign also stressed the importance of rejecting hate speech and avoiding ethnic polarization, stressing the need to raise awareness among the Sudanese people.

The conflict in Sudan lead to mass civilian casualties in both deliberate and indiscriminate attacks by the warring parties. Reports of several humanitarian, Sudanese and international organizations detail sexual violence against women and girls, targeted attacks on civilian objects such as hospitals and churches, and extensive looting.

The organization in its statement stressed the need for urgent action by international organizations to stop human rights violations in the country, calling on the international community to take a clear and effective position to protect civilians.

Armed conflicts have been ongoing in Sudan since April 2023, between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

This conflict has caused the displacement of millions of civilians and severe damage to infrastructure, causing the humanitarian situation to deteriorate significantly.

Women and girls in the midst of the brutal conflict between rival militaries in Sudan are being disproportionately impacted, including 5.8 million who are now displaced.

International humanitarian organizations have reported the difficulty of accessing aid to those affected due to ongoing violence and security threats.

The Joint Campaign to Stop the War includes more than 85 entities from professional and partisan entities, civil organizations, initiatives and individuals.
