Syrian Army Prepares Counteroffensive After Islamist Attack

Syrian forces eliminated 400 terrorists of various nationalities in airstrikes carried out over the past 24 hours.
On Monday, the Syrian Army began preparations for a counteroffensive after the Islamist group Organization for the Liberation of the Levant (Tahrir al-Sham) launched an offensive last Wednesday, occupying large areas in the Aleppo and Idlib provinces.

“Our forces have started moving along various axes in the rural areas of Aleppo, Hama, and Idlib to encircle the terrorists, expel them from the areas they entered, completely besiege them, and establish new concentration points to prepare for the next attack,” stated a Syrian Armed Forces communique.
In cooperation with Russian forces, Syrian forces had eliminated 400 terrorists of various nationalities in airstrikes carried out over the past 24 hours.
Syrian and Russian bombardments and artillery attacks targeted terrorist sites, warehouses, and supply lines in the rural areas of Aleppo and Idlib. These strikes resulted in the destruction of five headquarters, seven ammunition depots, and several weapons and drone storage facilities.
“The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces reaffirms the readiness of the Syrian Arab Army personnel and their determination to continue their tasks at a high pace and with great enthusiasm until every inch of pure land contaminated by terrorism is restored,” the Syrian military declared.
The insurgents have taken control of the entire province of Idlib, which serves as their stronghold in Syria, as well as a significant portion of the city of Aleppo, the second-largest city in the country.
On Sunday, the Al-Mayadeen news network reported that the Syrian Army also gained control of nearly all villages surrounding Hama, the fourth-largest city in the Levantine country, and is making swift progress in its counteroffensive against the terrorists seeking to seize the city.
