Syrian President Receives Iranian FM to Agree Defense Issues on Israeli Aggression

The Syria’s Head of State Bashar Al-Assad received today in Damascus the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to address defense matters in the face of the Israeli war escalation in the Middle East.

During the meeting, the Al-Assad, stressed the importance of this partnership in addressing the challenges and dangers that threaten the region and its peoples, in particular the continued Israeli occupation of Arab lands and the crimes committed against civilians in Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

In this regard, the Syrian president said that the “resistance against all forms of occupation, aggression and mass killing is a legitimate right, and it is strong in light of the popular support and belief in it, considering that the Iranian response to the violations and repeated attacks by the Israeli entity,” according to the Syria’s news agency SANA.

The Iranian Foreign Minister considered that the bilateral cooperation gains great importance, especially in overcoming the current circumstances, saying his country’s continued support for the Syrian people, all based on mutual respect.

On the other hand Araqchi highlighted the need to coordinate with all countries supporting efforts to stop this aggression stressing “his confidence in the strength of the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine to stand in the face of the Israeli machine of destruction and killing.”

In the context of the Israeli aggression against the Lebanon both sides agreed to coordinate and provide aid assistance to the Lebanese people, specially to the refugees and displaced by Zionist incursions pointing out the importance of cooperation between Syrian and Iranian Red Crescent Society.
