The text reads,
This week, more than 60 people were killed in Beni territory (North Kivu) in eastern DR Congo. In several places in the region throughout the week, killings took place, claimed by the ADF, terrorists of Ugandan origin affiliated with the Islamic State. These massacres take place while the Armed Forces of the DR Congo are already facing the M23 in the same province of North Kivu: a rebellion supported by Rwanda.

The massacre occurred a day after the same terrorist group killed 13 people in two villages in Mamove territory, also in Beni.

The Ugandan authorities also accuse the group of being the perpetrators of several attacks within its territory, for this reason in November 2021, the two countries initiated a joint military operation, still ongoing, to end the massacres.
