The anticipated signing of an economic agreement between the two countries faded amid recriminations and accusations.

From the start of the meeting in the Oval Office, the differences between the two leaders were evident. Trump, visibly upset, accused Zelensky of being “disrespectful” and “playing with World War III.”

In a heated exchange, the U.S. president reproached his Ukrainian counterpart for not being in a position to dictate how Americans should feel about the situation with Russia.
