‘Israel will sooner or later pay the price for this genocide’, President Erdogan stated.

This Monday marks one year since the start of the genocide that the Israeli occupation forces are perpetrating in Gaza, which began by presenting itself as retaliation for the military actions carried out by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Since Oct. 7, 2023, the Israeli state has killed 42,000 Palestinians, 16,900 of whom were children. Israeli soldiers also killed 986 healthcare workers, 146 specialist doctors, and 130 scientists and university professors, as recalled by Raseef22.

This independent digital media also pointed out that Israeli state terrorism has resulted in “17,000 orphans, 23 hospitals out of service, 130 administrative and academic facilities destroyed, 19 cemeteries destroyed, 814 mosques leveled, and 3 churches destroyed.”

The massive and indiscriminate Israeli bombings have also resulted in 200 archaeological and historical landmarks destroyed, 66 percent of buildings damaged, 52,564 buildings completely destroyed, and 68 percent of agricultural land destroyed, according to data from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, Gaza’s Health Ministry, and the United Nations.

On Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Israel will eventually pay the price for the “genocide” that has been going on in Gaza for a year.

“It should not be forgotten that Israel will sooner or later pay the price for this genocide that has been going on for a year,” he stated.

“Those dying in Gaza, Palestine, and Lebanon these days are not only women, children, babies, and innocent civilians; but also humanity and the international system,” Erdogan pointed out, vowing to continue to “stand against the Israeli government, regardless of the cost.”

He has been a vocal critic of Israel’s military operations in Gaza since last year. Türkiye and Israel reestablished diplomatic relations in mid-2022 following years of strained relations. Nevertheless, the ongoing Gaza crisis has led to renewed tensions between the two nations.
