The Ombudsman’s Office has issued a statement expressing serious concern about the negative consequences associated with viral challenges that are primarily spread on TikTok.

 Alfredo Ruiz, the institution’s principal representative, stated that these challenges have resulted in the deaths of at least two young people and have caused intoxications, putting children and adolescents in various schools across the country at risk.

The institution also urges parents and guardians to conduct ongoing monitoring of the content their children access on digital platforms, emphasizing the need for proactive vigilance.

Educational communities are encouraged to intensify their efforts in monitoring and preventing student participation in these risky challenges.
