On Thursday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro denounced that the United States wants to interfere in the internal affairs of his country and impose a president who serves its interests.

“The United States must keep its nose out of Venezuela because the sovereign people rule and decide in Venezuela,” he said during a meeting with the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP).

Maduro denounced that the former presidential candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, “is a murderer and a CIA agent” who was appointed by Washington as the new “Juan Guaido.”

In 2019, the right-wing opposition politician Juan Guaido proclaimed himself “president of Venezuela,” subsequently meddling in the U.S.-backed Operation Gideon, which attempted to carry out a coup against President Maduro.

“The U.S. has appointed a new Guaido: Edmundo Gonzalez, who is a murderer and a CIA agent linked to the killing of religious figures in El Salvador in the 1980s,” Maduro recalled and refuted the statements of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who announced that the White House recognizes Gonzalez as the winner of the July 28 elections.

“Is the United States the National Electoral Council?… Ten days ago, they said they would only recognize the ballots they fabricate,” recalled Maduro, referring to the misinformation process that the transnational far-right is pushing to avoid recognizing that he was re-elected as with 51.20 percent of the votes.

“Guaido did a lot of harm to the country, but we had a lot of patience with him. Now the United States dares to say that Venezuela has another president. The United States must keep its nose out of Venezuela because the sovereign people rule, elect, and decide in Venezuela,” the Bolivarian leader stressed.

“They want to impose a Guaido 2.0. We’ve already lived through that movie and know it will end sooner. Our patience has run out for this second movie,” he added.

On Friday afternoon, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) called on all the politicians who participated in the 2024 presidential elections to begin the process of investigation, review, and certification of the electoral process and its results.

“I hope all the candidates attend. I submit to the law, the institutions, and justice because only through them will Venezuelans consolidate peace and democracy we all want,” Maduro said, adding that the Great Patriotic Pole has 100 percent of the voting table records ready to present to the Supreme Court.
