At least eight people have lost their lives and 25 others have been injured in a recent Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

The bombing occurred on Sunday in the outskirts of Sidon, with one child among the fatalities.

Local media reports indicate that a projectile struck a three-story building, although the specific target of the attack remains unclear.

This incident comes amid escalating Israeli bombings in various areas of southern Lebanon. It marks the third update from the ministry regarding the death toll for the day, which had previously reported five dead and 13 injured.

Additionally, the Israeli military has ordered the evacuation of several towns in southern Lebanon, including Tafhata, Ghasaniya, and Babliyeh.

Since hostilities began with the Shiite group Hezbollah on October 8, 2023, over 2,600 people have died and more than 12,000 have been injured in Lebanon.
