“I hope that relations between Türkiye and the United States will be strengthened, and that regional and global crises and wars, particularly the Palestinian issue and the war between Russia and Ukraine, will come to an end,” Erdogan said from Kyrgyzstan.
“I believe that more efforts will be made for a more just world,” added the Turkish leader, who is currently participating in a summit of Turkic states in Kyrgyzstan.
In his message, the Turkish head of state congratulated his “friend” Trump on his victory in what he described as a “tough battle” in the U.S. presidential elections and referred to the beginning of a new era.
“I hope that the elections will be a source of good for the friendly and allied peoples of the United States and for all of humanity.”
Erdogan frequently referred to his “great friendship” with Trump when he served as president from 2017 to 2021, although bilateral relations between the United States and Turkey went through very difficult times during those years.
