The news was released by the Russian deputy foreign minister, Sergei Ryabkov, who serves as a high-level representative of the BRICS in Moscow (capital).
«President Erdogan has confirmed his participation in the briefing session of the 16th BRICS/BRICS+ Summit», said Ryabkov at a press conference, to clarify the details of the upcoming Summit.
In this line, the high official noted that «the conflict in Ukraine will be one of the topics to be discussed, especially at a high level, when we receive the Turkish leader in Kazan».
It is worth remembering that the BRICS bloc has expanded since its creation in 2006, when only four nations made up it.
In 2011, South Africa joined the bloc, adding the letter (S) to the acronym, which sealed the identification of the organization by which it prevails today: BRICS.
However, on 1 January this year, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates became members, bringing the total to 10 nations.
On this occasion, Russia holds the rotating presidency of the organization, which will culminate as soon as the upcoming summit is concluded, to be held from 22 to 24 October.
