Two Palestinian citizens were killed today in an Israeli military strike targeting them in the Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, local sources reported.

The Israeli occupation army carried out the attack, resulting in the deaths of the two individuals. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed, and no official statement has been issued by Israeli authorities regarding the incident.

In a separate incident, civil defense teams successfully recovered the remains of four individuals from the rubble of a house belonging to the Shurrab family near Palestine Stadium in western Gaza City. The circumstances surrounding the destruction of the house remain unclear.

These developments occur amid heightened tensions in the Gaza Strip, threatening the fragile ceasefire agreement brokered in late 2024. The agreement, facilitated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United Nations, sought to end 15 months of Israeli aggression that resulted in widespread destruction and significant loss of life in the besieged enclave.

The ceasefire aimed to restore calm and address critical humanitarian needs for the over two million Palestinians living in Gaza, who continue to face severe shortages of basic supplies, medical care, and rebuilding materials due to the ongoing blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt.

The recent escalation has drawn renewed concern from international and regional stakeholders, who fear that the truce could collapse, leading to further violence. Palestinian factions have not yet commented on the strike, though they have previously warned that continued Israeli aggression could trigger retaliatory actions.

The situation in Gaza remains tense, with calls for restraint and adherence to the ceasefire agreement to prevent another cycle of bloodshed.
