The United States government continues to provide military support to the Israeli army, while intensifying airstrikes on civilian infrastructure in Yemen, leaving 65 people dead and destroying hundreds of homes, according to local reports.
On Wednesday, U.S. warplanes targeted critical facilities, including the Water Authority building in the al-Mansuriyah district, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuring several others. Additional strikes hit a medical center and a school in Washah, located in Yemen’s Hajjah province. The northern province of Saada also suffered material damage, though no casualties were reported.
These actions follow an order issued by President Donald Trump on March 15, aimed at intensifying airstrikes in Yemen as retaliation for Yemeni operations against vessels linked to Israel, in solidarity with Gaza. Yemeni authorities have strongly rejected Washington’s claims that the strikes exclusively target military installations, emphasizing that the attacks have destroyed homes and claimed civilian lives.
The Houthi Ministry of Health spokesperson, Anees al Asbahi, reported via social media that the U.S. offensive has killed 61 civilians and injured 139. Since the beginning of the operation in October 2023, a total of 250 people have died, with 714 injured.
In response, Yemeni forces announced on Wednesday that they had conducted three attacks within 24 hours on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone in the Marib province. Yemeni Armed Forces also claimed to have targeted multiple warships in the Red Sea using cruise missiles and drones.
The Yemeni government has vowed to continue operations against vessels linked to Israel until the aggression against its territory and the Palestinian people ceases. The escalating conflict underscores the growing regional tensions and the devastating impact on civilian populations.
