This measure is controversial due to previous events when the US president, Joe Biden, suspended the shipment of different bombs and projectiles, such as 500 pounds.

On Thursday, the United States said it will soon begin shipping a shipment of 500-pound bombs to Israel for use in Gaza.

This measure is controversial due to previous events when the US president, Joe Biden, suspended the shipment of different bombs and projectiles, such as 500 pounds.

The Joe Biden Administration gave the green light to send the bombs, postponed in April due to White House concerns over the Israeli Army’s military operation in the Ghazal city of Rafah.

The bombs “are in the process of being shipped” and are expected to reach Israel in the coming weeks, said a presidential administration official. While 500-pound bomb shipments were approved, a shipment of 2,000-pound bombs is still on hold and is being held, as their use in Rafah and other parts of Gaza remains the US main concern.

The suspension of the provision of aerial bombs in May came in response to Israel’s plans to invade the city of Rafah. That month Biden warned that he would stop transferring some weapons to Israel if Tel Aviv started a military operation in Rafa.

It should be noted that despite the prohibitions Israel did not stop its military tactics and penetrated Rafah, using these same 500 bombs.

Supposedly, the White House agreed to resume shipments due to an upcoming “downturn” in the Zionist offensive, which contrasts with the death toll of 38,345 since October 7.
