Kremlin spokesperson Peskov asserted that Ukrainian attempts to attack energy facilities are a daily occurrence.

On Friday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian forces attacked the gas metering station in Sudzha.

“Around 10:20 a.m. local time, the Kiev regime launched a double attack using HIMARS rockets against the Sudzha gas metering station,” Russian authorities said.

The Ukrainian shelling caused a major fire at the energy facility, leaving it practically destroyed. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been continuously attacking Russian energy plants with drones.

In the Saratov region, Russian air defenses shot down 19 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles that were targeting the destruction of oil refinery infrastructure.

On Thursday evening, the electricity supply in the Shebekino district of the Belgorod region was disrupted as a result of a Ukrainian artillery attack on the facilities of the Rosseti Center (Belgorodenergo Electric Grid Company).

“In practice, all units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces disobey orders from their government,” said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who asserted that attempts to attack Russian energy facilities are a daily occurrence.

He also recalled that these attacks take place despite the fact that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime had supposedly adhered to a moratorium on attacks against energy infrastructure. As a result, “Russia reserves the right to cease complying with the moratorium if the Kiev regime does not respect it,” Peskov clarified.

The Sudzha station is part of the infrastructure through which one of the largest corridors for Russian natural gas supply to Europe operated until January 1. Its transit through Ukrainian territory was halted due to Kiev’s refusal to extend bilateral agreements with Moscow.
