Ukrainian Soldiers Star to Withdraw From Kursk Region

Russian troops continue operations to annihilate Ukrainian sabotage groups in forested areas of Kursk.

On Wednesday, Apty Alaudinov, deputy head of the military political directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry, commander of the Akhmat special forces, announced that several Ukrainian units are retreating from the Kursk region.

“The enemy has been stopped and has suffered heavy losses. Essentially … some of the units are being withdrawn in order to be sent to other areas,” Alaudinov said, adding that the fighting continues in several settlements on the outskirts, which are currently under Russian control.

The Russian Defense Ministry also confirmed that the Ukrainian army has suffered over 4,400 casualties, including deaths and injuries, during its offensive in Russia’s Kursk region.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces continued to repel attacks by Ukrainian assault groups in Kursk, which were concentrated around four towns. As a result of the fighting, kyiv lost 45 men and two tanks in one day.

Russian troops continue operations to identify and annihilate enemy sabotage groups in forested areas of Kursk to prevent them from further advancing into Russian territory.

On Wednesday, Russian medical services raised the number of civilians killed to 31 and the number of wounded to 143 due to the Ukrainian offensive in Kursk, a region that shares 245 kilometers of border with the neighboring country.

The Ukrainian armed forces launched an offensive in southern Russia’s Kursk region on August 6, attempting to control 93 localities on a territory of over 1,200 square kilometers. This offensive action forced Russian authorities to evacuate more than 122,000 inhabitants of the area.
