A poll in the final stretch of the campaign gives a three-point lead to the Democratic candidate and Vice President, Kamala Harris, over the Republican Donald Trump in Iowa, a state that has leaned conservative in presidential elections since 2012.

Local newspaper Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll shows Vice President Harris is leading former President Trump 47% to 44% among likely voters just four days left before a high-stakes election that appears deadlocked in key battleground states.
In September, Trump had a four-point lead in the polls and in June, when President Joe Biden was still the candidate, he had a comfortable 18-point lead.
J. Ann Selzer, the “gold standard” pollster in Iowa according to Axios, released on Saturday a new poll showing Harris leading three points over Trump.
Selzer is nown for past polls that accurately predicted Trump’s 8-point lead in Iowa over Joe Biden in 2022 and his victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016.
On the other hand, Trump’s campaign poll leader Tony Fabrizio said it is a statistical anomaly, in part because of its methodology, and noted that the poll published today by Emerson Collegue better reflects the voting intention of the Iowa electorate.
That poll gives Trump a ten-point lead over Harris and Fabrizio noted that the poll shows parallels between age groups and gender with the 2020 state election, which he believes makes more sense.
