Since the beginning of the conflict in October 2023, more than 200 children have been killed and over 1,000 injured in Lebanon due to indiscriminate attacks by Israel, according to James Elder, spokesman for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), during a press conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reports that among the 3,452 people who have died since the beginning of the conflict, 231 are children.
Elder also noted worrying similarities between the situation of children in Lebanon and those in the Gaza Strip, warning that what is intolerable is becoming acceptable and that horrific events are normalizing.
