Since the start of the war, two thirds of UNRWA schools in Gaza have been attacked.

The United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA) denounced on Wednesday the attack for four consecutive days on educational facilities serving in Gaza.

Unrwa Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini argued that “schools have gone from being safe places of education and hope for children to crowded shelters and often become a place of death and misery. Nine months later, under our supervision, murders, destruction and endless despair continue”

“Four schools were attacked in the last four days. Since the war began, two thirds of UNRWA’s schools in Gaza have been attacked, some bombed and many severely damaged,” he said.

“Gaza is not a place for children,” reiterated Philippe Lazzarini.

For their part, the Israeli occupying forces threw ballots from an airplane over Gaza City, urging all residents to evacuate immediately; they also established corridors to move the population to shelters in Deir el-Balah and Al Zawiya in the central Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Red Crescent also said Gaza residents are desperate.

Previously, the Palestinian authorities reported that more than 20 people were killed and dozens injured in an attack by the Israeli occupying forces on an educational centre serving as a refuge in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
