The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, denounced on Sunday that all the laws of war have been violated in the Gaza Strip and called for a ceasefire.

“All wars have rules, all those rules have been broken. A ceasefire, a respite for civilians wherever they are, including Gaza, and the immediate release of hostages is long overdue,” he said in a social media post.

He also reported that in recent hours there has been an escalation of attacks on schools and hospitals. ” The world must not be desensitized,” he said.

At dawn this Sunday, an Israeli shelling killed at least eight Palestinians at the Musa Bin Nusair school in Gaza City, in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the emergency service of the Civil Defense.

Meanwhile, in the Nuseirat and Deir el-Balah area, in the centre of the enclave, at least 10 Palestinians, including two children, were killed by an Israeli attack.

Between Saturday afternoon and this Sunday, Hussam Abu Safiy, director of the Kamal Adwan hospital (the only partially operational one in Beit Lahia, north of Gaza) reported that the building, where there are about 400 people including patients and staff, has been directly attacked without prior notification.

According to the latest report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, sent this Sunday, in the last 14 months of war in Gaza 45,259 people have been killed and 107,627 injured. Authorities regularly recall that this data does not include the approximately 11,000 bodies that remain in the rubble or are thrown onto roads, without emergency services having access to them.
