Erik Prince asks for million-dollar rewards for ‘the capture’ of Bolivarian leaders, payable with Venezuelan frozen assets.
On Thursday, Samuel Moncada, Venezuela’s permanent representative to the United Nations, denounced that Erik Prince, the owner of the private military security company Blackwater, posted a message inciting attacks against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello.

“If Kamala Harris and Joe Biden really want to support freedom and legitimate elections in Venezuela, then they should raise the rewards to US$100 million each on these already wanted criminals, Nicolas Maduro and Diosdado Cabello, and all the others in their cartel,” Prince wrote on the social network X.
“Then sit back and watch the magic happen. You can even pay these out from frozen regime money already in U.S. banks,” he added in his message, which was accompanied by wanted-style photographs.
Ambassador Moncada harshly rejected Prince’s statements, highlighting that they incite hatred and violent action against those two Bolivarian leaders.
“In Venezuela, the struggle is against global fascism. The clear majority of our people are willing to fight for our independence,” said the Bolivarian ambassador.
In the elections held on July 28, the candidate of the Great Patriotic Pole, President Nicolas Maduro, was re-elected as president of Venezuela for the 2025-2031 term, with 51.2 percent of the votes.
In second place was the candidate of the far-right opposition Democratic Unity Platform (PUD), Edmundo Gonzalez, who received 44.2 percent of the votes, according to official data released by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
In response to that defeat, Venezuelan right-wing forces disregarded the results, launched a media campaign of disinformation, and promoted violent urban actions. All these events are part of a plan to carry out a coup against President Maduro.
Throughout this week, the owner of the social network X, Elon Musk, has shown his public support for the Venezuelan far-right. So far, X has not taken any direct action against Prince’s openly violent post.
