Civilian Casualties Reported in Latest Wave of Bombings

The United States conducted 36 airstrikes against Houthi rebel positions in Yemen on Friday night, killing at least one civilian and injuring four others, according to reports from the Houthi-controlled Al Masirah TV. The attacks targeted strategic locations across the capital, Sanaa, as well as the provinces of Saada, Al Jawf, and Marib.

Sanaa and Saada Hit Hard in Overnight Strikes

Eight airstrikes struck the Al Sawad military barracks on the southern outskirts of Sanaa, a known Houthi operations hub. Meanwhile, 14 additional bombings hit areas surrounding Saada, a Houthi stronghold in northern Yemen, with two more strikes reported in the nearby Sahar district.

Key Government and Oil-Rich Regions Targeted

In Al Jawf province, eight airstrikes struck the Houthi-controlled government complex in the provincial capital, Al Hazm. Four more bombings hit the oil-rich district of Majzar in Marib—a major battleground between the Houthis and the Saudi-backed internationally recognized government.

The latest U.S. military intervention adds a new layer to Yemen’s brutal conflict, which has claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions since 2014. The escalation raises concerns over further civilian harm and the potential for intensified regional violence.
