‘It seems that the American political class has lost what little common sense,’ the Russian diplomat noted.

On Friday, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, accused Washington of giving Ukraine a “blank check” to conduct military operations on Russian territory.

The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden is evidently preparing new concessions for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and “will untie his hands to use virtually any type of American weaponry deep within Russian territory,” she said.

“The United States is actually a party to the Ukraine conflict. Overwhelmed by its hegemonic ambitions and its desire to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia, Washington time after time raises the degree of tension in relations with Russia. Contrary to official statements by a number of high-ranking U.S. officials, it is not seeking to defuse the tensions.”

“The U.S. approach toward escalation is becoming increasingly provocative… It seems that the American political class has lost what little common sense it had left and believes that it can do anything,” the Russian diplomat noted.

With these statements, Zakharova took a position regarding the remarks by Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, who confirmed that the United States has allowed the kyiv regime to use U.S. weapons to defend Ukraine against attacks from the Kursk region.

Previously, on Thursday, Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that Moscow is closely monitoring the steps taken by NATO countries in relation to the conflict in Ukraine.

He denounced that the Alliance countries “are increasingly flooding Ukraine with modern weaponry every day and are now discussing how to use it,” referring to Kyiv’s repeated requests to be allowed to use Western weapons to attack targets deep within Russia’s rear.
