American combat aircraft have carried out airstrikes on Kamaran Island in Yemen’s Red Sea, according to recent reports. The island, part of Hodeidah governorate in western Yemen, was targeted in the latest escalation of regional violence.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent confirmed the attacks, noting that the sound of warplanes was clearly audible in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a. Despite the intensity of the bombardment, Kamaran’s district director reported no human casualties from the US strikes.

The attacks come amid deteriorating conditions in Yemen. The country’s Health and Environment Ministry had previously announced that 15 civilians were killed or wounded in earlier airstrikes targeting Sana’a, Amanat Al-Asimah, and Hajjah governorates.

These developments occur against the backdrop of Yemen’s protracted conflict, where ongoing clashes between factions have created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.

The Yemeni Ministry [of Health] has placed responsibility on Washington, as well as the international community and global organizations, for deliberate attacks against civilian infrastructure and populations.

The renewed U.S. aggression against Yemen resulted in one martyr and five wounded during a nighttime attack on March 30 targeting Al-Qabel village in the Jadir area of Bani Al-Harith district, north of the capital Sana’a.

In a separate development, former President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that Washington would continue its attacks against Yemenis. “Stop shooting at our ships and we’ll stop shooting at you,” he declared.

These attacks occur within the broader context of Yemen’s protracted conflict, where tensions between various factions have led to significant deterioration of the humanitarian situation. The international community continues to monitor events in the region with growing concern as violence increasingly impacts civilian populations.
