Earlier, the High-Level Joint Commission signed two memorandums of understanding—one on visa exemptions and another on technology transfer and training in artificial intelligence.
Maduro stated that all working groups have carried out extensive efforts to outline the cooperation roadmap between Iran and Venezuela. He highlighted the political trust that has existed between the two nations for 20 years.
“Iran has emerged as a rising power in the multipolar and multicentric world that is emerging today for humanity. It is a country with great technological capacity and a strong educational, cultural, and scientific tradition,” the Venezuelan leader said, emphasizing that Iran has withstood more than 45 years of imperialist siege without losing its fighting spirit.
“As we consolidate our model of independence, we are also weaving the new world and strengthening alliances within the Global South,” he added, stressing that cooperation between Venezuela and Iran is part of a broader effort toward building a world free from colonial powers and fascism.
“From Venezuela and Iran, we say YES to freedom, to joint construction, and to open dialogue between peoples and civilizations. A new stage in the Iran-Venezuela relationship begins, aiming to increase trade, mobility, and tourism. Venezuela is ready to welcome large groups of Iranian tourists,” Maduro declared.
Aziz Nasirzadeh, for his part, affirmed, “Geographical distance has never been an obstacle to deepening the relations between our peoples.”
“Iran and Venezuela are friends and brothers in the same boat, sharing the destiny of our nations in the face of existing threats. Imperialism, which always seeks to dominate free and sovereign peoples, is upset by the cooperation between countries striving for a world free of hegemony,” he emphasized.
“Iran will spare no effort to strengthen its cooperation with Venezuela. We will facilitate relations and contracts between private sector companies,” he said, concluding with a reference to a phrase by former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez: ‘Love is repaid with love.’
During Thursday’s meeting, Venezuelan Minister Ramon Velasquez noted that Venezuela and Iran have advanced in 17 areas of cooperation through various projects.
“The intense collaboration aims to contribute to the education of our future generations. An Iranian entrepreneur plans to equip 50 Venezuelan schools with tools for learning artificial intelligence,” he said, illustrating that the bilateral relationship is focused on crucial areas such as telecommunications and artificial intelligence.
