“At this meeting we discussed the work we have carried out within the framework of the agreements on cooperation in the oil, natural gas and mining sectors signed in 2024,” Bayraktar said.
“We agreed with Rodriguez to take concrete steps in this field as soon as possible,” the Turkish minister said, stressing that energy cooperation will allow “taking bilateral relations even further.”
In recent years, Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan (Türkiye) and Nicolas Maduro (Venezuela) have made several gestures of alliance and friendship to promote bilateral trade in goods and services.
Delcy Rodriguez arrived in Istanbul from India where she was participating in Energy Week in New Delhi. “We successfully completed the working visit that brought us to India to participate in the 3rd Annual Edition of Energy Week and to review our joint cooperation map with this sister country,” she said.
This week, the Bolivarian vice president held bilateral meetings with several officials of the Indian government. The first of these meetings took place on Tuesday and brought Rodriguez together with Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri with the aim of discussing oil exploitation projects.
“We talked about the economic potential of both countries to promote shared development and the different projects we are working on in the energy field,” Rodriguez pointed out.
During her visit to New Delhi, the Venezuelan vice president also signed a memorandum for digital transformation and cooperation with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology of India.
