 Venezuela and Vietnam have enhanced their bilateral ties during the XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia.

On Thursday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chính to discuss the status of their cooperation agreements.

Pham emphasized the “traditional friendship and strategic partnership” between the two nations, reaffirming Vietnam’s commitment to bolstering these relations.

 Since establishing diplomatic ties in December 1989 and a comprehensive partnership in May 2007, both countries have collaborated across various sectors, including politics, economics, and culture.

 In April, they signed several agreements reflecting mutual support and a desire to expand cooperation. Reports indicate that exchanges between Venezuela and Vietnam have significantly evolved over nearly 25 years, covering areas such as education and social affairs.

During the summit, bilateral meetings also took place between Vietnam and Russia. President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude for the participation of countries in the summit and supported Vietnam’s interest in more actively engaging with BRICS initiatives.
